Programme details


This programme encourages and fosters critical contextual practice, contemporary and innovative methodologies, cross- disciplinary practices, collaborative learning and reflective studio-based practice.


Students meet weekly for peer learning events and teaching sessions. Students are encouraged to make full use of the rest of the time in the studio, workshops, lectures or other study facilities. Students are in control of their own learning and responsible for the development of their own creative practice.


This programme makes use of theoretical and contextual independent research, as a means of developing relevant, independent enquiry and fresh challenge in support of the students evolving creativity and professional practice.

Suitable for


This programme is for committed fine art or creative practitioners who wish to develop their personal practice to a higher, professional level. It actively encourages the pursuit of individual agendas for study and for personal choice of media/disciplines selected from the range of practices within the field of contemporary fine art.


Part-time study is a preferred option as the nature of learning at this level and the process of individual reflection implies a process of gestation, that is best supported by an extended time frame.

Our graduates have exhibited successfully in a range of venues and biennales. Many graduates establish themselves within the local creative economy and develop a studio presence in the region. We encourage students to pursue an international profile and presence as soon as possible in support of their professional reputation. Many of our students succeed through related professions in; education, community development, healthcare environments or enterprise. Some graduates prefer to apply their creative practice to commissioning, consultancy or other professional outcomes.

Programme details


The Masters in Creative Education has been designed to meet the needs of teachers working in primary, secondary and tertiary education and those in relevant educational support and development roles. It relates to the teaching and development of creativity in others and to the creativity of the educator.


It is relevant to educational contexts such as galleries, museums and youth development and relates best to those with a background in or responsibility for delivering creative skills, disciplines and media.


This programme is intended to support the professional development of the student and encourage their independent expertise and their original value as educators.
