ODIN OVERTHROWS THOR
Zinema Motion BY DAVID FOX
Zinema Motion has introduced its largest six-axis camera robot system so far: Odin, which can carry a payload of 12kg (double that of the existing Thor), with an arm reach of 1.485m (up from 1.018m with Thor). The high-speed arm (4.6m per second) is particularly useful for capturing super slow-motion scenes. It is precise (hitting all programmed targets with an accuracy of 0.05mm) and has a maximum height of 2.6m with a minimum of 0.56m. The
system is
“designed for portability and effi ciency” and operates on a single- phase wall power
outlet with low power consumption.
Setup takes under an hour for a crew of two.
Users can expand the arm’s capability to a seventh axis using Zinema Motion’s Linear Track (in 2m, 4m and 6m lengths) driven as a combination under its Heimdall Works robotic arm software for multi-axis camera movements. The software is accessible via a wireless controller pad allowing users to position and align the camera and add keyframes with one click. No programming experience is needed. 12.C57

SNEWS Newsroom Solutions
BY KEVIN EMMOTT
Signifi cant integrations for the Arion NRCS newsroom system have been launched. Aiming to streamline editorial workfl ows, Arion NRCS now integrates with Reuters Content to provide real-time access to a vast array of news, images and videos, all with detailed metadata, through an offi cial Reuters API. The integration reinforces Reuters as a trusted content partner of SNEWS, ensuring users receive the most reliable and comprehensive news coverage available. The company is also reporting integration with the SOUV mobile journalism application. The plug-in provides a dedicated interface within Arion NRCS, meaning users can list live devices registered in SOUV, view active
broadcasts and access media sent by reporters, including videos, images and audio, without leaving the Arion environment. Additionally, users have access to media received from SOUV Social, with the ability to fi lter by campaign and identify contributions for inclusion in news scripts. The integration also includes SOUV’s AI capabilities, such as generating descriptive texts for received images and transcribing received audio, accessible within the Arion plug-in. 7.D09
