Making its IBC debut, Blackmagic Design says the URSA Cine 12K is the result of designing a “dream high-end camera that had everything we had ever wanted”. Boasting a new generation of image sensor, a body with industry-standard features and connections, and integration into high-end workfl ows, the URSA Cine 12K is also designed for total integration into postproduction workfl ows to encourage effi cient and collaborative working between teams. Director EMEA, Blackmagic, said: “The camera records both the Blackmagic RAW fi les and H.264 proxies at the same time, which means the user can send a choice of either just the proxies, or both the proxies and the camera originals up to the cloud. Those fi les arrive directly in a DaVinci Resolve project which means that editors can be working on those fi les immediately.”
Despite 8TB of built-in storage, the URSA Cine 12K also includes high-speed networking for media upload and syncing to Blackmagic Cloud over WiFi, a 10G Ethernet connection or even a cell phone.

Now in its 30th year, EVS Broadcast is keen to illustrate how it has expanded and diversifi ed beyond its original focus on replay technology.
At IBC, the Belgium-based company is continuing its campaign under the tagline, ‘This is not a replay’, using a local live performance painter to challenge perceptions that people may have of EVS. According to Sébastien Verlaine, Senior Brand and Corporate Communication Manager at the company, EVS is “doing much more today when it comes to, for example, content management,

asset management, but also media infrastructure. This campaign is there to reinforce that message.” CTO Alex Redfern noted that EVS has been on an expansion drive in the past fi ve to ten years, both on an organic and inorganic basis. For example, it acquired Axon in 2020 and MOG Technologies only last month to expand its premium live production portfolio.
And the company is keen to expand further, both in existing markets and potentially in new areas. “We have a really good series of Lego bricks and building blocks to build on top of. What we need to do is work out what sets we want to build,” Redfern said. 5.G08

Imagine Communications is marking a milestone at IBC2024, with the shipping of the 4000th unit of its Selenio Network Processor (SNP). New features have also been added which are able to be licensed onto any SNP that has ever shipped, enabling current users to easily add functionality to their existing system. Taking centre stage at IBC2024, the new SNP-XL extends the SNP platform’s capabilities with increased SDI fl exibility and a new
double-density gateway personality. Offering a fl exible and practical
processing device in both IP and SDI workfl ows, the SNP was put to the test at major international sports projects this year, including global pro golf tournaments and the Paris Games, by live events technology provider Creative Technology.
