Baskar Subramanian, Co-founder and CEO, Amagi

How is your company helping its customers to address the challenges faced by the media and entertainment industry? Changing viewer behaviour is making it imperative for M&E industry stakeholders to innovate and push boundaries to stay relevant, grow their business and stay profi table. Post pandemic, our observation has been that these changes have only accelerated. Viewers are determining how, what, when and where they consume and interact with content. As a result, broadcasters and streamers need to respond with agility, speed and fl exibility. For broadcasters who are experiencing a decline in pay-TV revenues, Amagi is enabling end-to-end cloud migration that brings signifi cant cost-savings and operational effi ciencies. As digital linear experiences continue to gain

momentum, our cloud migration solutions offer a distinct advantage to broadcasters as they can now maximise their infrastructure to run 24x7 live linear channels for both cable and streaming TV – all-in-one. We are driving broadcast-grade FAST channel creation for content owners and platforms. We are enabling them to distribute their content internationally through our wide network of 150+ platforms. And, of course, monetisation which is critical. We are bringing a whole new aspect of personalisation, innovation in CTV advertising and intelligent use of cloud infrastructure that gives so much more fl exibility to deliver improved ROI.

What do you think are the main drivers in your market sector? AI technologies can be leveraged in many ways to positively impact

the industry. Specifi c to media workfl ows across broadcast and streaming, I see AI bringing effi ciencies and providing more fl exibility. Some of these are already beginning to take shape. While it’s still very early days, I believe ever-changing viewer behaviour and preferences will drive more innovation and adoption of AI-based technologies in the coming years.

What are the main areas of focus for your company during IBC2024?

Cloud migration is the key theme for us at IBC this year. We are showcasing our entire suite of cloud solutions that have enabled many of our large enterprise broadcast network customers to manage complex media workfl ows, run live production and distribution, and build a unifi ed system for

broadcast, FAST and VOD. We are giving attendees a fi rst-hand experience of our glass-to-glass live in-person production and origination system. Solutions related to clipping, editing and publishing are also on display. Also, personalisation of FAST channels, monetisation and analytics. 5.B87

LOGSERVER SYSTEM REFRESH ROLLED OUT Mediaproxy BY ANNE MORRIS

The latest updates for the LogServer compliance monitoring system are on show from Mediaproxy, along with a redesigned clip processing and publishing engine and new additions to the Monwall multiviewer.

LogServer now incorporates support for both AI-Media Technologies’ recently launched Lexi Recorded self-service captioning and transcription platform and the DataMiner open monitoring and orchestration software from Skyline

Communications. Both companies are close Mediaproxy partners and are also exhibiting at IBC. For the US market, LogServer

offers ATSC 3.0 capability for next-gen IP channels. Mediaproxy has developed a new, software- based technique for monitoring both on-air and off-air ATSC 3.0 streams, which it says is necessary to analyse the multiple segments and services being carried. Additionally, LogServer conforms to the main standards currently

LogServer and Monwall are on show in Hall 5

in use for broadcast TV and streaming, including SMPTE ST 2110 and NMOS, for the transport of media over IP networks, and SCTE guidance on dynamic ad insertion. Mediaproxy is also

demonstrating the ability to work with clustering decentralised systems on IP networks.

Erik Otto, CEO at Mediaproxy, said: “The demands being put on monitoring and logging systems by broadcasters and streaming services today go beyond core compliance requirements. Mediaproxy has always stayed well ahead of the developing trends in this fast-paced market.” 5.D72
