29 SOLVING CHALLENGES WITH CLOUD
With the soft launch of Diversifi ed’s new Intelligent Orchestration for Media Production solution here at IBC2024, Jared Timmins – who became the company’s inaugural VP of Media Innovation in April 2023 – leaves no doubt about the signifi cance of this event, set as it is against the backdrop of profound changes across broadcast and media. “IBC is a big step forward for us and our journey into the digital transformation that we believe all companies in the media space are going through,” he says. “In particular, we’re seeing a renaissance in the ability to use cloud to solve business challenges, and to do it in a way that’s simple and operator-focused, instead of being really engineering-driven.” The latest fruition of Diversifi ed’s own developments in this area is the Intelligent Orchestration for Media Production solution that is being introduced during a Showcase Theatre session at 14:15 today, entitled ‘Media Production
Without Boundaries: Streamlined, scalable and decentralised’. “In order to be able to serve clients in a more continuous integration and development kind of approach, we’ve re-thought from the ground-up how we handle projects and data, and how we work with clients – which is now more like a joint DevOps team,” says Timmins. “We have also thought carefully about how we work with the vendor communities to make sure that we’re scaling them up, and measuring their digital and cloud maturity effectively, enabling us to work with them as development partners that can provide the necessary pieces, ports and infrastructure.” The result, he adds, is “a solution that equips clients to understand, optimise and transition to decentralised infrastructures, enabling faster market entry and monetisation”. The prominence in the “cloud discussion of how AI is assisting the data fl ow and the way we do projects” has also informed

the latest Diversifi ed launch, which Timmins describes as a “kind of best-of-breed system that allows vendors to work in new ways to do business model experimentation, total addressable market expansion, and work together instead of just pulling up for a project, plugging in Ethernet cables, and doing some confi gurations”.
Session attendees can expect
Timmins to explore several key aspects of Intelligent Orchestration, including decentralised production,
