Landscapes Challenges facing manufacturing in the region
The provision of high-speed broadband throughout the Western Region is seen as vital in supporting existing facilities, and also in encouraging new investment. Poor broadband service across much of the region makes it difficult to promote the region as a suitable location for modern industries. The Western Region is hoping to benefit from the government’s National Broadband Strategy, which aims to provide a high-speed service in all areas of the country. However, delays in the implementation of the plan mean broadband speeds are still very slow in parts of the region.
