British beauty influencer to kick off SCS Formulate programme

The organiser of SCS Formulate has revealed Ateh Jewel will be the opening speaker at this month’s trade show in Coventry, UK. Jewel (pictured) is an

award-winning British journalist, producer, broadcaster and beauty entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience transforming the industry. Founder of Ateh Jewel Beauty,

a pioneering brand renowned for inclusivity and high-performance products for all skin-tones, Jewel has consistently championed diversity, sustainability and self- empowerment. She is a regular columnist for

Marie Claire and Hello!, a British Beauty Council Ambassador, CEW Board member and Achievement Award winner. Her TV presence on This

Morning, Good Morning Britain and Netflix’s Glow Up has made her a trusted and relatable voice, bringing conversations about representation and innovation to a mainstream audience. In her keynote speech at 09:30

on 11 November, Jewel will explore the evolving face of beauty and why inclusivity is now essential to product innovation. She will offer practical

insights on how brands can embed representation in their product development, drawing on real-word examples from her collaborations with Estée Lauder, Aveda and Chanel. Jewel will also highlight what the industry has gained from embracing diversity, and the risks of overlooking it, while showing how

personal care can be positioned not just as functional but as a powerful tool for empowerment, inspiring confidence and creating meaningful connections with consumers. Beyond her work in beauty,

Jewel is also a passionate advocate for mental health and neurodiversity awareness. Through the Dr. Ateh Jewel

Education Foundation she provides financial support and scholarships for black and mixed-heritage students in higher education, further underlining her commitment to driving change and empowerment in the next generation. Her session promises to be an

inspirational and practical starting point for attendees seeking to align innovation, inclusivity and growth in their own projects. The 2025 edition of the SCS

Formulate trade show in Coventry, UK this month will meanwhile

debut a brand-new pop-up shop celebrating the best of personal care innovation from brands and manufacturers across the UK and Ireland.

The SCS Showcase shop will

allow visitors to discover and purchase standout products at exclusive discounted prices, with all proceeds going to Look Good Feel Better, the charity helping people face cancer with confidence. Reflecting an evolving crossover

between the personal care and HI&I sectors, SCS Formulate is also launching a brand new content stream dedicated to formulating household, industrial & institutional (HI&I) cleaning products. Hosted in a dedicated theatre,

this programme is the only UK forum specifically designed for formulators, chemists and buyers developing products for the HI&I industry. Sessions will explore the

product innovations, regulatory updates, formulation strategies, and future market trends that are essential to safe, effective and forward-thinking product development. Participating companies will

demonstrate how their ingredients or technologies can enhance the profile of end-products, whether through fragrance in surface cleaners, texture in hand soaps or visual appeal in detergents, offering professionals a fresh way to connect, discover and source solutions all in one place – where they can explore the future of HI&I cleaning.

PERSONAL CARE November 2025 SCS Formulate staples returning

again for 2025 include the Laura Marshall Awards, which celebrate innovation and excellence in cosmetic science. Two categories – Sustainability

in Ethics and Technology and Disruption – honour the outstanding contributions to formulation development. Shortlisted companies present

their innovations on the first day, with the winners announced at the sold-out SCS Annual Dinner, taking place on Tuesday 11 November at 19:00.
