Procedure: Prepare water phase A1 by mixing ingredients and start heating to 75°C. Add phase A2 by sprinkling Carbopol® Ultrez 21 and let sit under low mixing until Carbopol® is hydrated. Pre-neutralize the Carbopol® by adding phase A3 under medium mixing or low rotor stator shear. Maintain the temperature at 75°C. Heat oil phase B to 75°C until melted and homogeneous. Proceed with the emulsion of oil phase B into water phase A, slowly, under moderate mixing (1500 rpm), increasing the speed while adding. At the end, mix under high shear (3000 rpm) for 15 minutes. Finish to neutralize the Carbopol® Ultrez 21 with phase C at 75°C under moderate mixing for 5 minutes. Cool down under slow mixing until reaching 40°C and add phase D under moderate mixing. Cool down until reaching 25°C under slow mixing and finally add phase E. Properties: Aspect: Orange iridescent bi-gel cream pH: 6.1 ± 0.3 Viscosity Brookfield RV (spindle B, speed 5): approx. 52 000 mPa.s after 24h

Procedure: In the main vessel prepare phase A, heat it up to 80-85°C and disperse the thickeners using a suitable dispersion unit (Silverson). In a secondary vessel prepare phase B and heat it up to 75-80°C, stirring with a magnetic stirrer. Add phase B to phase A and homogenize using a suitable dispersion unit (Silverson). Cool down under gentle stirring. Add phase C and homogenize using a suitable dispersion unit (Silverson). Adjust the pH under 5.5.
