Symrise launches Mindera plant-based platform
Symrise has unveiled the Mindera product platform with an accompanying launch of four patent-protected, 100% plant- based ingredients. The German maker says
Mindera offers a natural shield for personal care formulations by delivering superior, multifunctional broad-spectrum activity. The Mindera line-up consists of
four products, each with different multifunctionalities. Mindera Ma is an antimicrobial, chelating, antioxidant, and soothing agent that helps to stabilize emulsions. Mindera CH is an antimicrobial, chelating, antioxidant, and soothing agent, which helps to reduce sebum. Mindera AA acts as an
antimicrobial and chelating agent, while Mindera Cin is an antimicrobial agent with antioxidant and soothing properties. All Mindera products are
100% plant-based using natural substances known from the food industry, and are scientifically
proven as safe for consumers and the environment. Symrise says the ingredients
work in various combinations to protect leave-on cosmetic formulations – like emulsions, serums, and conditioner – from microorganisms. “With Mindera, we are solving
the Naturalness Performance equation in cosmetic product protection,” added Sabine Lange, Director Functional Efficacy & Application at Symrise. “Over many years, we have
worked to identify the right plant- based substances in the right combinations to deliver efficient
and effective protection.” In a related development,
Symrise has taken the wraps off SymRelief green, which combines biotech bisabolol and ginger root extract said to soothe visibly and deeply sensitive skin. The German maker claims It
provides immediate and long- lasting relief from visible irritations, decreasing the appearance of redness and increasing skin comfort.
The ingredient is designed to
counteract the underlying causes of hypersensitivity at multiple levels and preventing so-called inflammaging by protecting collagen and targeting COL17A1 (the gene involved in skin structure protection).
Thus, it helps cosmetic brands meet rising consumer demand for holistic skin soothing. Formulators benefit from a
cost-effective, easy-to-use solution that maintains colour and odour in formulations and can go into a wide range of applications across skin and body care.
BioMara makes splash with marine ingredient
Scottish seaweed extract startup BioMara launched a high-purity fucoidan extract, Revyntra, at in-cosmetics Global 2025 in Amsterdam. Revyntra is a premium high-
purity fucoidan extracted from regeneratively farmed seaweed designed for skin care and haircare applications. Developed for use in
serums, creams, masks, and hair formulations, Revyntra is undergoing independent in vitro testing for anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, anti-oxidant,
collagen-boosting and ‘kind-to- skin’ claims. “Revyntra is the result of years
of R&D optimising extraction to unlock the potential of seaweed extracts for health,” said Jay Dignan (pictured), CEO of BioMara. “There is surging demand
across the cosmetics industry for natural research-backed active ingredients. Revyntra answers that call - combining efficacy and sustainability in one hero ingredient,” he added. BioMara’s seaweed is sourced

Givaudan taps ‘smallest HA
ever made’ Givaudan has unveiled PrimalHyal UltraReverse, claimed to be the smallest and most sustainable hyaluronic acid ever developed. The Swiss company said strain engineering experts at French biotech outfit Alderys has designed an ultra-low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, lower than 3kDa (kilodaltons), which unlocks new biological benefits. This active ingredient is said to
have a unique ability to penetrate skin cells and act at the DNA level, effectively addressing most of the primary hallmarks of ageing. PrimalHyal UltraReverse targets
four of the five primary hallmarks of ageing: epigenetic control; genomic instability; telomeres attrition; and loss of proteostasis. By targeting these biological
pathways, the ingredient protects the skin not only from chronological ageing, but also from environmental stressors known as the exposome. Givaudan says it increases Sirtuin
1 by +136% and improves Collagen 1 production by +48%, helping to restore skin’s youthfulness. The result is claimed to be visibly
younger, healthier skin, with an apparent age reduced by up to six years. It also corrects key signs of

no freshwater, no arable land, and no chemical inputs, and actively improves marine ecosystems.
ageing, including wrinkles and sleep lines while offering improved skin firmness, as demonstrated on a diverse and international panel of volunteers. R&D director Romain Reynaud
said: “Produced by precision fermentation, its environmental impact is drastically reduced—setting a new benchmark for sustainable, high-performance skin care.”

naturally matte, powder-soft finish. Based on a creamy, moisturising balm and a blend of blurring and light scattering natural powders, this ready-to-use blend can achieve anything from a light blurring effect to complete matte coverage –
simply by adjusting the usage level. It can easily be incorporated
into any emulsion or balm base - or even used on its own as a balm-to- powder product. Compatible with most ingredients, it creates luxurious textures every time with no pilling,
whitening or stickiness. “Elastoblur is an exciting
innovation for formulators looking to achieve this kind of ‘soft focus’ effect naturally,” said Caroline Recardo, Technical Director at Alchemy Ingredients.
