Yoshinori Iwase (YI): Fifty years ago, manufacturers and trading companies involved in cosmetics raw materials gathered to establish the Japan Cosmetics Suppliers Association in Tokyo and the Kinki Cosmetic Materials Association in Osaka with the aim of contributing to the development of the cosmetics industry. In 2010 the two organizations,
based in East and West Japan, joined forces with the aim of facilitating the smooth operation of Cosmetic Ingredients and Technology Exhibition (CITE) Japan and established The Federation of Japanese Cosmetic Ingredients Associations. From the 5th Cosmetic
Ingredients and Technology Exhibition (CITE JAPAN 2011), we have taken over from the previous organizer, the Society of Cosmetic Chemists of Japan, in hosting CITE JAPAN. The Federation continues its
activities with the aim of making further contributions to the development of the cosmetics industry by promoting mutual communication and friendship between the two associations.
TP: What is the role of the President of the Federation of Japanese Cosmetic Ingredients Associations? YI: The Federation of Japan Cosmetic Ingredients Associations represents the Japan cosmetic ingredients industry and plays various roles to promote its development. There are two main
