IFSCC unveils Cannes line-up for 35th Congress


The International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC) has revealed the line-up for its 35th Congress in Cannes, France on 15-18 September. Under the theme of ‘The Future


is Science’, the event is expected to welcome over 1,000 participants, who will have the privilege of attending 68 selected conferences and exploring 650 posters presented by international experts over three days. The 35th Congress will focus on


three key topics: skin and hair health and wellbeing; holistic sciences; and diversity and personalization. Almost 1,200 submissions were


received by the scientific committee with 55% coming from Asia, 32% from Europe and 13% from the Americas. Organised by the Société


Française de Cosmétologie and supported by major names in the


international cosmetics industry, the 2025 IFSCC congress, under the Presidency of Dr Christine Lafforgue, will be hosted at the Palais des Festivals, in Cannes. Professors Thierry Passeron,


David Sander, Marc-André Selosse, Jin Qu, Nina Jablonski and Dr. Anke Hadasch will each introduce one of the scientific half-days of the congress, following the ‘out of the box’ morning sessions by Paul Matt, Gilles Bœuf and Luc Julia, designed to inspire unconventional thinking and explore the unexpected as a source of creativity for cosmetology.


On September 15, a workshops’


day led by specialists will precede the three official days of the congress. Each session will provide


participants with cutting-edge insights to enhance their work; places are limited. Finally, a dedicated area will host some 30 exhibitors showcasing their services and technologies. Designed to promote the latest


scientific advances in cosmetology, the 35th Congress is the annual opportunity to federate the IFSCC’s worldwide network made up of over 16,000 individual members from 51 Societies in 81 countries, in interaction with academic and industrial players in the cosmetics sector. Nouryon launches BeautyCreations AI tool


Nouryon has launched BeautyCreations, an AI-driven tool that enables personal care formulators to search through Nouryon’s repository of hair and skin care formulations. Powered by Albert Invent,


the BeautyCreations formulation discovery tool leverages AI to help formulators supercharge their


beauty formulation development. Using natural language,


formulators can describe their formulation requirements and desired consumer product claims to the tool, which is trained specifically for personal care formulation chemistry. The tool allows customers to develop their own formulations


from the company’s innovative portfolio of solutions. “The launch of our new


BeautyCreations formulation discovery tool highlights our commitment to innovation and excellence in personal care formulation,” said chief technology officer Johan Landfors.


Prinova acquires Brazilian


distributor Prinova, a subsidiary of Japan’s Nagase, has acquired Brazilian ingredients distributor Aplinova to boost its footprint in Latin America. Based in São Paulo, Aplinova


provides speciality ingredients for a wide range of market segments, including personal care. Founded in 1987, it has enjoyed


double-digit year-on-year growth since 2020, and recently opened a new facility in Jundiaí. Prinova, a leading supplier


of ingredients and premixes, has significantly increased its footprint in Latin America in recent years. The acquisition of Aplinova


follows the takeover of Brazilian citrus oil processor Flavor Tec in 2023. Richard McEvoy, president and


CEO of the Prinova Group, said: “The Brazilian ingredients market is increasingly important and Aplinova has long been one its key players, so we’re excited to bring them into the Prinova family. Masaya Ikemoto, representative
