An oil-in-water sunscreen based on our CrystalCast® MM emulsifier, with additional protective actives and formulating aids that give a light-weight feel upon application.

Procedure: Mix and heat phase A to 75-80°C. In a separate vessel, mix and heat phase B to 75-80°C, then homogenize until uniform. Continue mixing phase B at 75-80°C. Once phase A and phase B are at 75-80°C, add phase B to phase A under high mixing agitation. Homogenize for 5 minutes or until uniform. Continue with moderate mixing and cool down to ≤ 34°C. Adjust pH, if needed. Properties: pH = 7.0 - 7.5, Viscosity LV4/12 = 18,000 - 25,000 cPs * CrystalCast® MM composition is covered by US Patent # 7,754,775 & European Patent # 1756077

Procedure: Mix and heat phase A to 40-45°C, then gently homogenize 5 minutes. Continue mixing and heat to 70-75°C. Mix and heat phase B to 70-75°C. At 70-75°C, add phase B to phase A under high mixing agitation, then homogenize 5 minutes. Continue with moderate mixing and cool down to 40-45°C. Premix phase C, then homogenize until completely dispersed. Add phase C to phase A/B, then add phase D ingredients, independently. Cool down to ≤ 32°C. Adjust pH, if needed.
