AAK Sweden COMPANY PROFILE

AAK is a leading supplier of high performance, botanically derived emollients for the beauty and personal care industry. All our ingredients originate from natural, renewable sources and we are committed to minimising our impact on the environment. Decades of experience within lipid technology have enabled us to optimise the physical and sensory characteristics of the raw material to unlock new opportunities for more natural skin care innovations.

Our canola-based range is sustainably sourced from non-GMO Swedish crops and includes bioactive emollients with documented benefits and high stability base oils. Canola is a rich source of functional lipids including skin-replenishing fatty acids, soothing phytosterols and antioxidant tocopherols. We apply our specialised processing to harness the power of these lipids and deliver high performance ingredients that are gentle on skin and tough on environmental aggressors.

Our shea-based portfolio includes solid and semi-solid butters that vary in melting profiles and crystallisation properties, plus versatile liquid emollients and specialty derivatives. Our energy-saving Lipex SheaLiquid TR and NEW creamy-textured Lipex SheaSoft TR are from a segregated supply chain, fully traceable to our AAK Kolo Nafaso direct shea sourcing program in West Africa. Launched in 2009, the award-winning program now engages hundreds of thousands of women shea collectors across Burkina Faso, Ghana and Ivory Coast and encompasses many aspects of sustainability, from building long-term, transparent and fair business relationships with the women’s groups, to creating jobs and developing projects to mitigate climate change in the region.

The featured formulations are based on 100% fully traceable shea with additional soothing, calming and anti-inflammatory benefits provided by the canola-based bioactive emollient, Lipex PreAct.
