William Hill was the first Las Vegas sportsbook to offer bets on the outcomes of the match ups but types of betting were restricted and no in game wagering was permitted. SBTech will need to set aside $30 million in cash and stock in case clients of the company institute legal action relating to a recent cyber security incident. However as a result, the terms of its SBTech’s merger with DraftKings have been amended. Earlier this year DraftKings entered into a definitive business combination agreement with Diamond Eagle Acquisition Corp a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company, and SBTech.
Following the cyber attack, Diamond Eagle Acquisition Corp., amended the tie-up agreement to require SBTech’s sellers to set aside $30 million in cash and stock to pay any potential settlements with affected clients. If this fails to to cover settlements, another $25 million in escrowed cash and $45 million in locked-up shares would be released.
DraftKings has been cleared to become a public company following approval of a merger with SBTech and Diamond Eagle Acquisition.
American Gaming Group, LLC. operator of Wildwood Casino in Cripple Creek, Colorado has announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement with ISI Race & Sports to provide hardware, software and marketing services for their upcoming sports betting offering. Final licensing approval for ISI from the Colorado Division of Gaming is pending.

Te American Gaming Association (AGA) has conducted a comprehensive survey of consumer sports betting and revealed a number of key findings and insights into the market. In its study “Current and Future Sports Betting Behaviour Post-PASPA,” the study was designed to shed light on Americans’ “knowledge and opinions of sports betting and to gain insight into the behaviours, preferences and

A U.S. District Judge has ruled against fantasy sports players who were trying to sue Major League Baseball for fraud over a recent “sign- stealing” scandal. Judge Jed Rakoff from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said that the claims against the league and its teams were “simply too attenuated” to support the lawsuit. In his 32-page opinion Rakoff said that the plaintiffs had failed to make out that the league owed gamblers a duty to take additional action to prevent player misconduct and they did not have a legal right to sue over rules violations.
