highly precise measurements. Since CMMs are quite slow,

challenging to program, yet very accurate, CyberOptics recognized an opportunity to address this problem. Customers value the fact that they

can obtain accurate height measure- ments in x, y and z with the compa- ny’s SQ3000™ AOI system. That enables customers to do a lot more than just inspection and deciding whether a product passes or fails. Currently, the company is getting a

lot of traction with this measurement capability. This is the first time any AOI system can inspect and perform measurements at these speeds. The company has leveraged its

proprietary MRS sensor technology and combined it with an extensive coordinate measurement software suite for the new SQ3000 CMM system — an extension of the SQ3000 platform. What sets this apart

Permabond’s Acrylic Adhesives Bond Untreated Plastics

Somerset, NJ — Permabond has released new acrylic adhesives, TA4605 and TA4610. These new materials are designed to form strong bonds with low-surface-ener- gy plastic substrates, such as polypropylene, polyethylene, EPDM, and PTFE, without have to pretreat the surface.

The adhesives save time, cost

and energy by eliminating flame, coro- na, plasma treating, or chemical etch- ing before bonding. These adhesive bonds have excellent water resistance and bond a wide variety of substrates, including metals, composites and almost all plastic materials. The two-component 1:1 mix

adhesive is available in easy-to-use 1.7 and 13.5 fl oz (50 and 400 ml) car- tridges, with static mixer nozzles.
