IF PERFORMANCE COUNTS,
IF RELIABILITY COUNTS,
INTERCONNECTS COUNTS A LOT.
THEN YOUR CHOICE OF
Maintaining a seamless, uninterrupted signal is the objective for any electronic system. Regardless of how elegantly designed or sophisticated the individual components might be, continuity and reliability will only be as good as the interconnects that link them. Machined pin receptacles from Mill-Max can make the difference between a product that only performs adequately and an exceptional product that lasts.

New Advanced Hybrid AOI System from Yamaha
Kennesaw, GA — Yamaha has launched its YSi-V 12M Type HS2 high-end hybrid AOI system. The YSi-V 12M Type HS2 offers fast in- spection speeds, high precision and enhanced capacity and performance for specular components. Development of the YSi-V 12M
Type HS2 has targeted faster pro- cessing through improved image pro- cessing hardware and image inspec- tion algorithms. As a result, it has achieved a more than 25 percent in- crease in 3D inspection speed when compared with the existing model, and delivers a significant speed in- crease of up to 40 percent for PCBs with high component densities. The system includes a high-pre-
cision mode, which captures clear 3D images. The high-precision 7 µm res-

peatability. The optimization of im - age capture parameters and the use of newly-developed algorithms allows the system to inspect thin, highly-in- tegrated WLCSP and FOWLP com- ponents. The YSi-V 12M Type HS2 is
user-friendly and quick to program, but also offers user flexibility. The user can decrease 3D speeds, reduc- ing cycle times, or increase 3D in- spection, increasing overall inspec- tion capability. Notable features include: for-
eign object detection; IPC rank tun- ing; judgment criteria tuning; side- view inspection; 2,000 predefined li- braries; SPC analysis tool; marker frame, which allows a marker pen to automatically assign a code to the board for traceability; z-axis warpage compensation; and a QA option, which passes information between the inspection system and the mounter to determine the root cause of defects.
