The rewards continue on the Isle of Mull, in the pretty town of Tobermory. The famous brightly coloured houses dotted along the waterfront make for one of Scotland’s most photographed images. The houses overlook the Sound of Mull, a waterway renowned for the variety of wildlife that has been known to visit. This includes seals, dolphins, basking sharks and seabirds. Taking a tour across the sound allows your discovery of the 13th
century Duart Castle, while Aros Park is known for its attractive woodland trails.
Last but not least, the rugged mainland of Orkney awaits your arrival. From Kirkwall you can immerse yourself in history at the UNESCO-listed, 5,000-year-old Neolithic village of Skara Brae, or the ancient stone circles of Stenness and Brodgar; or perhaps pay a visit to St Magnus, Britain’s northernmost cathedral.
