The panorama of the wharf’s delightful coloured houses is definitely one for the holiday album, while the Troldhaugen Museum, where renowned composer Edvard Grieg once resided, is all yours to explore too.
The quaint village of Flåm will be next to welcome you. The surrounding landscapes of the Aurlandsfjord beg to be explored, and the unforgettable Flåm Railway will transport you across this inspirational landscape, offering fabulous views of mountains, waterfalls and more. Hiking and cycling are popular activities here, as is a visit to the
Stegastein viewing platform, which hangs off the mountainside and delivers dramatic, unrestricted views of the fjord. You’ll have time to revel in the dramatic twists and turns of the Nærøyfjord – which was rated joint top in National Geographic’s list of natural heritage sites worldwide
– before heading on to Olden. This stop is your gateway to capturing all the majesty of the Briksdal Glacier, dramatically set between roaring waterfalls and high peaks. You’ll depart this quaint village via the majestic Nordfjord, passing Europe’s highest sea cliff, Hornelen, en route.
Hellesylt is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is renowned for both its stunning waterfall – which nestles between two bridges – and its proximity to Hornindalsvatnet, Europe’s deepest lake. To round off your voyage, there’s an effortlessly scenic journey to behold.
