Authentic | Mediterranean
As the autumnal temperatures of Britain are falling, you’ll be enjoying the seasonal warmth of Mediterranean Spain and the glorious Côte d’Azur. There’s more to this cruise than October sunshine though; a string of stylish destinations offer a wealth of highlights, from the supercars, boutiques, yacht-filled marinas and casinos of glamorous Monaco and Cannes to the historical and cultural delights of Cartagena, Barcelona and Cádiz.

With its wonderful climate, stunning scenery and sandy beaches, Gibraltar is a popular holiday destination year-round and the perfect place to begin your autumn escape – although the unmistakably British shops and red pillar-boxes are sure to give a familiar feel. A panoramic tour of this British territory followed by afternoon tea at the iconic Rock Hotel is a great way to spend your time here. Along Spain’s beautiful Mediterranean coast, you’ll be spoilt for choice of attractions to discover in Cartagena: the Medieval castle, Roman amphitheatre and Bateria de Castillitos are among many highlights.
A morning arrival at Monaco signals the start of a wonderful weekend exploring the luxuriant French Riviera. Glitzy Monaco – the world’s second smallest country – is renowned for its luxury hotels, casinos, palaces and marinas packed with huge, multi-million dollar yachts – enjoy ample time to admire them all. During your full day here you could also choose to walk part of the famous Formula One Grand Prix Circuit; or even see the Prince of Monaco’s impressive car collection at the Top Car Museum.
A relaxing Sunday in Cannes gives an authentic taste of the Côte d’Azur. Perhaps you’ll uncover the grand Art Nouveau buildings of the elegant Boulevard de la Croisette, including the iconic Carlton Cannes Hotel; or wander the charming Le Suquet Old Quarter, perched on Mont Chevalier. Flash cars, couture shops and a picturesque harbour also await you.
Returning to Spanish shores, a call into the incredible Catalan city of Barcelona will offer an abundance of memorable sights and experiences. Highly recommended are chances to stroll along bustling Las Ramblas; visit the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Eulalia; and seek out the city’s collection of remarkable Gaudi architecture. In particular the iconic Sagrada Familia – still a work in progress – is not to be missed.
After visiting Palma de Mallorca and its striking Gothic-style cathedral, you’ll arrive in Cádiz. In Europe’s oldest continuously inhabited settlement, you can sample traditional tapas after exploring the historic streets, alleys and squares. Nearby Jerez, ‘sherry capital of the world’, is well worth visiting on tour.
