Docking close to the centre of Stavanger, you’ll soon be immersed in 1,000 years of rich traditions and history. The Old Town of small wooden houses promises charm in abundance. In historic Bergen, you can enjoy authentic cultural experiences and a host of highlights, including Bryggen Wharf, the vibrant fish market and the Troldhaugen Museum – the former home of Edvard Grieg. For a faster pace, unparalleled views of the city await those who take the funicular railway to the top of Mount Fløyen.
Olden is your gateway to the magnificent Briksdal Glacier – an arm of Europe’s largest inland glacier, Jostedalsbreen – and the mighty Kjenndalen Glacier. From here, you’ll sail the majestic Nordfjord and pass Europe’s highest sea cliff, Hornelen.
Spending the following afternoon in Eidfjord presents opportunities to kayak on the surrounding waters, tour to the spectacular Vøringsfoss Waterfall or savour authentic local treats at the Hardanger Juice and Cider Factory, perhaps. All this before a leisurely sailing through the orchard-filled landscapes of the Hardangerfjord. Braemar will then make a special diversion to get closer to the steep-sided Lysefjord, completing this captivating voyage.
