Breathtaking fjords, soaring cliffs and tumbling waterfalls are seemingly endless as you sail a host of exquisite Norwegian waterways. From the captivating Nordfjord to the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord, you’ll see the very best of fjordland via the most scenic routes – many of which are accessible only to smaller ships like Balmoral. Ride the scenic Flåm Railway, discover the impressive Briksdal Glacier and experience the historic, Hanseatic city of Bergen.


Your outstanding exploration begins as Balmoral cruises in style along the Lysefjord, a fjord out of reach to larger vessels. There’ll be ample time to admire its steep slopes. The rich delights of Bergen are next. Here you can roam through living history in this modern city. The array of colourful houses, the vibrant fish market, the UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf and the funicular railway – which scales the height of Mount Fløyen – are all yours to discover. There’s also a chance to explore the Troldhaugen Museum, where renowned composer Edvard Grieg once resided.


You’ll have time to explore the quaint villages of Flåm and Olden and revel in the drama of the Nærøyfjord. This pretty waterway was rated joint top in National Geographic’s list of natural heritage sites worldwide. South of Flåm harbour, the Stegastein viewing platform juts out high above the wonderfully scenic Aurlandsfjord and the charming 17th


century wooden Flåm Church. Meanwhile, the


engineering wonder that is the Flåm Railway offers more breathtaking views as it climbs up high into the mountains.


From Olden, a scenic hike through the wondrous surrounding landscapes gets you up close to the magnificent Briksdal Glacier. Experiencing the panoramic vistas on offer from the Loen Skylift, one of the steepest cable cars in the world, is every bit as unforgettable. You’ll depart this quaint village via the majestic Nordfjord, passing Europe’s highest sea cliff, Hornelen, en route.


The restored farmhouses of Hellesylt – a UNESCO World Heritage site – add to the mystique of this old Viking port. The village is probably most famous for its stunning waterfall between two bridges, as well as its proximity to Hornindalsvatnet, Europe’s deepest lake.


Balmoral then continues on her adventure through Geirangerfjord’s snow-capped mountain peaks, deserted fjord farms and lush greenery. You’ll also be treated to a view of the glorious cascading streams of the Seven Sisters Waterfall. Finally, the scenic waters of Sunnylvsfjord and Storfjord, and the rugged vistas of Hjørundfjord conclude this mesmerising voyage.
