Moving onwards to Norway, you can explore the Hanseatic city of Bergen. The ancient Bryggen Wharf, the lively fish market and the popular funicular railway, which climbs to the top of Mount Fløyen, are all highly recommended. There’s also a chance to explore the Troldhaugen Museum, where renowned composer Edvard Grieg once resided.
From Olden, you’ll get the chance to capture the famous Briksdal Glacier, which is set between tumbling waterfalls and towering peaks. Alternatively, you can experience the Loen Skylift, one of the steepest cable cars in the world. You’ll depart this quaint village via the majestic Nordfjord, passing Europe’s highest sea cliff, Hornelen, en route. A day in tranquil Flåm presents the chance to weave through the landscapes on the unforgettable Flåm Railway, before your journey is capped off with a cruise along the dramatic Nærøyfjord. This impressive waterway was rated joint top in National Geographic’s list of natural heritage sites worldwide.
