H&ASKHAM CHARITY GOLF DAY Happy Birthday!
2015 heralds my next guest company’s 10th birthday and in true fashion they intend to make sparks fly – literally in a number of ways…of which we will find out more in the following paragraphs.
However allow me to introduce to you to the positively charged H&Askham, a specialist electrical installation company whom provide a full range of installations to a variety of sectors – which include EHV (extra high Voltage), HV (high voltage); LV (low voltage); fibre optic cable jointing and submarine work - for the purposes of this feature – we will be predominantly concentrating on their Renewables Division.
WELCOME BACK!
I was delighted to be educated further by the erudite Claire Cooper, Senior Project Manager, a name you may find familiar as she featured in our June/July 2013 ‘Successful Women in Wind’ article.
AND SO IT WAS…
It all began when two talented and like- minded individuals, Nick Heale and Scott Carpenter, collectively amassing a wealth of experience within the fields of electrical installations, manufacturing and engineering, joined forces – henceforth the conception of H&Askham.
As a result of this merging they were able to pool their skills and expertise haling in the early days of apprenticeships and training with such prestigious names as Balfour Group, BICC Cables, Pirelli, Prysmian Cables – this would then become the benchmark for their quality of service, having between them developed the company by employing similar calibre and like-minded professionals.
DIVERSITY & DILIGENCE
To date, their list of completed and ongoing projects is an impressive one as they have extensive capabilities for repair, maintenance
and testing: Thanet; Gunfleet Sands III; Global Tech 1; Dan Tysk and London Array but to name a few!
Claire continues that their multi-skilled team have the flexibility to undertake a variety of projects both on and offshore and are diligent regarding health and safety and training: all personnel are certified with the necessary accreditations and authorisations to carry out their given disciplines.
Dedicated to ensuring safety, H&Askham have systems aligned to the ISO 18001 Health & Safety standard and will seek accreditation within the next 12 months which will complement their registration the ISO 9001 Quality and ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems. In addition they are also Achilles UK vendor database members.
With 35 full time personnel and a core of regular contractors or affectionately known as ‘the gang’, upon whom they may call upon for peak periods (without the need to resource from labour agencies), the company is expanding rapidly.
