With more than 600 exhibitors and over 60 boats on the pontoons, Seawork International 2015 in Southampton provided yet another highly successful show.

54 NORTH MARITIME TRAINING Anne Hornigold, Chief Executive of 54 North Maritime Training collected the Innovations Showcase Award for Safety and Training.
54 North Maritime Training from Whitby, North Yorkshire were amongst 40 other maritime nominees for this prized award. The company is the only UK training provider offering the new and exclusive Apprenticeship in Maritime Studies – Workboats which was introduced in late 2014.

After two weeks of intense online voting on the Seaworks website, this prestigious award was proudly collected by Anne Hornigold, Chief Executive of 54 North Maritime Training, to a very enthusiastic reception at a well attended awards ceremony.

The company are able to help companies complete skills gap assessments for their organisations and tailor training programmes which will benefit employees and facilitate compliance with statutory requirements.
BESPOKE TRAINING PROGRAMMES

Exhibitors from across the globe attended, with country representatives from Italy, Korea, China, Holland, Sweden, Finland, Norway, France, Australia, USA, Turkey and Spain emphasising the true international nature of the event. More than 7500 people attended the show, with approximately 20% of those coming from overseas.
SPIRIT OF INNOVATION SHOWCASE The Spirit of Innovation Showcase allowed visitors and other exhibitors to see the recent projects, products and vessels that 'push the envelope' of ideas and provide new solutions. Located in Seawork's undercover exhibition area, the Innovations Showcase was judged in six main categories…

• Diving and underwater technology • Renewable energy, safety and training

To qualify for this prestigious award, all entries had to be new to the market in the last 12 months providing a valuable insight into the latest design, technology and applications.

ANNE HORNIGOLD MBE Anne has been heavily involved in the Maritime Industry for over 13 years, training apprentices and adults into maritime careers. She has raised the profile of the company UK wide, working strategically at all levels, from routine to ministerial level.
Working closely with the Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA), Maritime Skills Alliance (MSA), National Workboat Association (NWA) and Trinity House, to name but a few, she is recognised for the establishment of excellence in maritime safety training, initially in the fishing industry and latterly in the workboat industry.
Under Anne’s guidance, the company has received many quality and excellence awards. The company considers safety training is paramount and has an outstanding safety record. Anne’s introduction of a robust safety training programme has resulted, to date, in no major accidents or deaths for anyone trained by the company.
