TECHNICAL

This kind of experience ensures apprentices have a real understanding of the skills and knowledge required to work in what can be dangerous and extreme environments, but is an opportunity that has seldom been offered by companies in the past.

PARTNERSHIP

The Group recently partnered with Great Yarmouth College to launch a pioneering pre-apprenticeship programme which involves sponsoring each year’s intake and offering talented students on the two- year course an electrical, mechanical or instrumentation technician apprenticeship on completion. They identified the need to develop future technicians and engineers and this programme allows them to engage, encourage and inform a diverse range of future industry talent.

It’s important for 3sun Group to be able to work across all areas of the energy sector whilst also encouraging young people to get involved in the industry with hands-on, practical experience.

COMMITMENT

The Group have also trained over 30 ex-military staff and their 3sun Academy has supported them throughout the transition into the company, through technical and vocational training courses and assessments. They are committed to continuing this support due to signing the Armed Forces Covenant and have a number of initiatives in place to support ex-service personnel. Having served with the Army as a young man, Graham Hacon, 3sun Group’s CEO wants to ensure that the Group always endeavours to do the right thing by our servicemen and women.

EXTRA DIMENSION

The 3sun Academy adds an extra dimension to the Group’s capabilities and client offering and aids them in creating a robust and sustainable workforce for the future.

Whether employees are young apprentices first embarking on a career or highly experienced ex-military personnel with transferable skills, they appreciate the value in up-skilling, training and re-training employees, which will ultimately bring major benefits for many industries within the energy sector.
