A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT!

The cover image was sourced after much editorial team discussion. We do like to be a bit different however we also like to make it more meaningful than may appear at first sight. It is an image of Whitby Abbey and church graveyard.

Whitby, with considerable help from Scarborough Borough Council, has really made a name for itself in the wind energy industry – and with the Dogger Bank Round 3 construction project just around the corner – is set to become even more prominent in the future.

We have put their area under the spotlight within this special edition.

WHITBY HISTORY

For those who do not know much about Whitby’s history this vibrant North Yorkshire destination was a favourite and inspiration to Dracula’s creator Bram Stoker!

It also hosts the most successful Goth Festival outside Transylvania – you have probably got the first link by now.

The more serious link however is a bit more relevant to Training & Development – the old adage but far more modern analogy of education is from ‘cradle to grave’. Worthwhile training and development should never stop – the success of the CPD (Continuous Professional Development) movement should be enough to back that up.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT SPECIAL EDITION

The subject area could not be more important in a fast moving and vibrant industry and we have over 50 pages where you will find a range of education, training and development establishments and organisations to help with your needs.

Because of the response the feature has been sectioned into 5 areas of interest in order to give it some structure as follows…

• Health & Safety • Technical • Qualifications • Competence Management • Whitby & Scarborough Spotlight

This ‘Special Edition’ also includes a supplement which will be a pull-out matrix of the companies involved within the training and development supply chain serving the needs of the industry.

If for any reason you have not received the supplement please contact our offices and we will send one out to you. Tel: 44 (0) 1765 644224.
