logic families with variable voltage levels and single or differential sig- nals are adding to this complexity. At the same time, industrial manufac- turing environments require process- ing capabilities at the hardware level that speed throughput and reduce test time. Seica has introduced its Com -

pact DTS to meet the demand for testing integrated devices with vec- tor-based techniques that are able to combine in-circuit tests as well. Like the company’s other systems, the Compact DTS uses the same VIP platform, enabling smooth integra- tion and ease-of-use. The system pro- vides the capability to perform both in-circuit and functional testing, without requiring its users to be experts.
Compact DTS Key features of the Compact
DTS are its cutting-edge measure- ment system based on the company’s ACL module and VIVA management software. The proprietary module integrates all of the test capabilities and also enables fully-automated test execution. Optical fiber commu- nication with a PC minimizes its sen- sitivity to external disturbances. The ACL module contains four digital channels, which are complemented

by the company’s F50 module. The F50 is a 32-channel digital
board that can reach pattern rates of up to 25 MHz. It includes digital drivers and sensors, with voltage programming up to +12V/–5V, as well as four pulse generators that can operate in clock-free running mode. This allows it to be either syn- chronous or asynchronous with the digital patterns and gives it the capa- bility of moving channels to different timings in driver or sensor mode.
nal architecture or specific program- ming languages. The Compact DTS can be con-
figured with the F50 to be fully-digi- tal, or the F50 can be combined with Seica’s S64 board for a hybrid solu- tion. These two boards in combina- tion allow the system to make use of all digital and analog test points. If a high number of digital channels are necessary, the company can multi- plex the digital channels. The Compact DTS is designed
for easy and immediate in-line inte- gration. The use of a vacuum receiv- er, available as an alternative to the standard pneumatic receiver, makes the system even more compact.
VIVA Management Software The system’s VIVA manage-
Compact DTS. The VIVA management soft-
ware is designed with simple and user-friendly logic and performs autonomous system management and testing routines. One of its main capabilities is the QuickTest module, a graphical program designed for compiling and running functional tests. It can program tests without requiring the user to know its inter-
ment software allows the user to combine in-circuit and functional testing, improving both process speed and fault coverage. Its func- tional graphic environment guides the user through the steps of test program creation and execution. The system supports digital test
development through its dedicated neutral VIVA language (NVL), where it is possible to check, debug and execute programs. The environ- ment also enables the simultaneous handling and integration of analog, digital, functional and management instructions. The VIP platform ensures pro-

VIVA software makes it compatible with other programming languages like Python or VBS and others, while
