May, 2017 ElEctronic Mfg Products Coating — New from Dymax High-Speed Laser Marker Low-Viscosity Conformal

Torrington, CT — Dymax has intro- duced its Multi-Cure® 9482-FC, a conformal coating developed as an al- ternative to thin, solvent-based con-

as well as resistance to humidity, thermal shock and corrosion. The material is designed for

rapid conformal coating of PCBs and other electronic assemblies. Typically, to achieve a very

thin conformal coating, formula- tions are reduced by the use of solvents. In the past, light-cure coatings have been unsuccessful in providing the thinness and various performance require- ments needed. 9452-FC is compatible with

formal coatings. With a viscosity of 20 cP, the 100 percent solids materi- al provides a thin coating that is more environmentally-friendly than solvent-based products. The new light- and heat-curable film coating provides good electrical insulation,

most types of spray equipment. It fluoresces vivid blue when ex- posed to UV light (365 nm) for easy inspection of the coating cov- erage. It is also suitable for film coating and flow coating applica- tions. Its secondary heat-cure feature allows the coating to cure in applications with shadowed areas. Due to its low viscosity, it can be cured under LED light

Allentown, PA — FlexLink has launched its GENIUS 1-LD, a high- speed laser marker that incorporates a dual-laser head along with multi- ple cameras to reduce cycle time. PCBs are positioned vertically inside the module, allowing the two laser heads to mark both sides of each board simultaneously. The vertical board position also helps to minimize dust issues. The 1-LD is FlexLink’s latest

laser marker and reduces cycle times by more than 35 percent over previous generations. The system is designed to provide quality marks and to improve process yields. The machine is also easy to integrate into existing assem- bly lines, increasing overall efficiency. The module is compact, occu-

pies minimum floorspace, uses the company’s new control and software package, and has a marking area of 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in.). FlexLink’s PCB product line contains modular, standalone units with on- board control. The 1-LD laser mark- er is independent from other modules in the system, but can be easily linked to other modules by both up- line and down-line SMEMA commu- nication. If required, the laser mark-
