Account Manager Wertheim, Germany — SMT Maschinen und Vertriebs has appointed Maxmil- ian Leppig its new key account manager for the Lite-On Group. With head- quarters in Taiwan, Lite-On is a worldwide provider of optical drives and em- ploys around 80,000 people worldwide. SMT has already supplied several vac- uum soldering systems to Lite-On’s factories in China and Mexico. Mr. Leppig will be responsible for facilitating and developing the relationship between SMT and Lite-On. He will provide direct customer contact for Lite-On, which is especially important for large, globally-operating companies. iNEMI Roadmap Somerset, NJ — Alpha Assembly Solutions’ technical market manager Gyan Dutt, along with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s (RPI) Dr. Robert Karlicek have co-chaired the 2017 iNEMI Solid State Illumination Industry Roadmap. The iNEMI organization predicts the future technology requirements of the global electronics industry, identifies and prioritizes technology and infrastruc- ture gaps, and works to provide solutions. According to Mr. Dutt, developing the roadmap was both challenging and rewarding due to the rapid growth of LED adoption. The chapter addresses key trends in packaging technology, including flip chip/CSP, chip-on-board and new kinds of substrates for thermal manage- ment and flexible form factors. Web:

Bill Macartney IV Clinton, NY — Indium Corporation has named Bill Macartney IV its new manager of global channel programs. Mr. Macartney will be responsible for managing Indium’s global sales channel programs, including executing pro- gram strategies and developing plans to enhance the sales channel program. His duties also include developing and implementing communication tools, along with product and program training. Mr. Macartney joined Indium in 1996 and has served in several roles, including his most recent position as Rocky Mountain regional sales manager. Omar Calderon Joins CeTaQ Americas
as Field Service Manager for Mexico Bedford, NH — Omar Calderon has joined CeTaQ Americas as its new field service engineer for Mexico and Latin America. Based in Juarez, Mr. Calderon brings more than 20 years of experience in SMT to the position. Previously, he worked as a field service engineer for Panasonic, and prior to that, he was an SMT technician for Jabil. In his new role, Mr. Calderon will support all CeTaQ activities in Latin America. His primary responsibility will be to pro- vide onsite capability measurements of manufacturing equipment in the SMT industry. According to CeTaQ, Mr. Calderon will be a great asset to the company
