Milpitas, CA — A staple event for con- necting the electronics manufacturing supply chain and adjacent industry segments, SEMICON West, is now open for registration. The event will be held July 11-13 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. The event includes more than
600 exhibitors and 115 hours of pro- grams and networking opportunities to provide the insight and access to technical and business knowledge necessary to embrace today’s disrup-
Creative Storage Conference Focuses on 4k
San Jose, CA — The 11th annual Creative Storage Conference (CS 2017), which will be held May 24 at the DoubleTree Hotel West Los Angeles in Culver City, California, brings together digital storage pro - viders, equipment and software manu- facturers, and professional media and entertainment end users. This year’s theme: “The Next Act of Storage — Digital Storage Makes Art Happen.” This one-day conference and
exhibits brings together the vendors, end users, researchers, and visionar- ies that will meet growing demand for digital storage for content cap- ture, editing, archiving and content distribution. There are four keynote talks
scheduled for the event, including a presentation by David Frederick of Quantum entitled, “Top Five Consid - erations for 4k Storage Deploy ments: Number 4 Will Shock You!” As facilities roll out 4k-capable
shared storage systems, they may quickly discover that there is more to sizing a storage system for 4k than simply adding up drive performance. Frederick will share the methodology and results of Quantum’s extensive lab tests, which included six uncom- pressed and compressed formats and three drive types, including flash, across six different array configura- tions and three client platforms. The findings highlight some of the miscon- ceptions about storage performance for 4k workflows and about video post- production storage in general. Contact: Entertainment

and stencil design can help improve yields with chip components, BGA/CSP components, BTC/MLF/ QFN/LGA components and lead- frame components and lead to improved reliability, along with a discussion of issues caused if non- optimized designs are used. Other factors to consider in design include selection of soldering materials, board and component surface finish- es and a review of their influence on yield and reliability. tive tech landscape. SEMI has rein- vented its programs this year to accommodate new challenges facing the industry. SEMICON West has created new smart application expe- riences and networking venues to put attendees face-to-face with key thought leaders. With the theme “SMART Starts
Here,” the event will focus on emerg- ing applications and technologies, including smart technology in the automotive, manufacturing, medical tech, IoT, and other segments. A virtu- al reality-driven SMART journey on the show floor promises to be enter- taining and eye-opening. Another first-time event, the MicroE Career Development and Recruitment For -
um, will offer a full range of employ- ment opportunities in electronics, from internships to senior manage- ment.
SEMICON West connects atten-
dees with the extended electronics manufacturing supply chain, in one place and at one time. The best in the business, from materials, equipment, design, manufacturing, system inte- gration, and demand channels to adja- cencies such as flexible hybrid elec- tronics, MEMS and sensors, will be represented. Reconnect with old con- tacts and make new ones to drive busi- ness forward at SEMICON West. Attendees can now tailor their
SEMICON West experience to meet their specific interests. The all-in pass
covers every program and event the expo offers, while thought-leadership and expo-only passes offer program and pricing options. For the first time, attendees can also purchase select events and programs individually, including the Summerfest at AT&T Park showing the MLB all-star game for an exclusive networking get- together and IEEE training work- shops for IoT. A free college student pass is available for July 12 so stu- dents can explore the industry with access to the expo floor, keynote addresses, and the recruitment forum. Contact: SEMI, 3081 Zanker
