Entry-Level Rotary Module from ETEL
Schaumburg, IL — Motion systems control manufacturer ETEL, exclu- sively distributed in North America by HEIDENHAIN Corporation, has introduced its DXR+ direct drive ro- tary module. The DXR+ is available as a standalone, entry-level rotary module. The rotary module has been designed to be compact, lightweight and with a large hollow shaft to pro- vide a good performance-to-cost ratio for applications in semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. The DXR+ has the same physical
characteristics as its predecessor the DXR, but brings major stiffness im- provements, which has a direct impact on the control bandwidth of any x/y stage that supports it. The rotary mod- ule has a toothless ring design, similar
to an ironless linear motor, but in a ro- tary shape, and its cross-roller bear- ings provide high moment load capac- ity and high stiffness. Applications in electronics and
semiconductor manufacturing bene- fit from the rotary module’s bidirec-

tional repeatability of ±2 arc seconds, position accuracy down to ±3 arc sec- onds after calibration, and position stability of ±0.2 arc seconds. Like other standard modules

from ETEL, including the ZT, Z3TH, and RTTB, the DXR+ can be mount- ed on any standard x/y platforms. The DXR+ is a one-degree-of-freedom module that allows unlimited angu- lar travel. As an option, travel can be limited to angular segments in multi- ples of approximately 60°. The rotary module’s cleanliness level ranges from ISO 5 down to ISO 1 under spe-
cific conditions. Contact: HEIDENHAIN Corp.,

Epec Adds Expedited Ordering to Customer Portal
New Bedford, MA — Epec Engineered Technologies has updated its recent- ly-released, web-based customer por- tal by adding an order expediting fea- ture. The company implemented the feature to allow customers to change the delivery schedules of their orders, in addition to seeing the status of placed orders. Since the system is on- line, customers have access to the in- formation at any time. The company’s online quote and
ordering site for rigid PCBs and flexi- ble circuits allows customers to quote and order products in real-time. Re- leased in May 2015, the portal allows customers to log in and view their in- voices, outstanding and available bal- ances, deposits, credits, and the terms associated with their accounts. While the new feature allows

customers to better manage orders on their own, is it not designed to re- place the service provided by Epec and its customer service and sales associates. Having the online option as well as traditional customer serv- ice gives the company’s clients flexi- bility in ordering and offers real-time
feedback whenever it is needed. Contact: Epec Engineered Tech- nologies, LLC, 174 Duchaine
