Kansas City, MO — DIT-MCO has released its HT-128 handheld wire- less cable tester. While it can be used as a benchtop cable tester for small assemblies, it is mainly designed to test installed wiring harnesses with- out having to use long extension cables or loop-back plugs to bring both ends of the cable under test back to the tester. Despite the HT-128’s compact
size, equivalent to that of a common handheld digital multimeter, the device is a complete, 128-point cable tester, capable of testing for opens, shorts and mis-wires in seconds. Up to eight units can be combined together for testing branch harnesses with a total capability of 1,024 test points.
Short adapter cables are used to HT-128 handheld wireless cable tester.

connect each device to the UUT’s con- nectors. One unit is the host and the other unit(s) become the remote. The test program is started from the host unit and the harness is fully tested as if both ends are plugged into one tester. The units communicate wire-
lessly, or as an alternative, can com- municate through the wires of the cable under test. In addition to the HT-128, the
company offers wire and cable testers that include the model 2115 — a benchtop high-voltage wiring analyz-

E3.series.
Harness manufacturers can
easily create their harness documen- tation from drawings or a wire list in a short amount of time. Data sheets can be easily added to documenta- tion. Pricing information, lead time and assembly time can also be calcu- lated automatically. The latest version of the soft-
ware was designed to meet customer requests for more test output capa- bility and improved cost analysis. In the new release, users will see expanded test system coverage with support for Cirris Systems and Dynalab Test Systems. By linking Zuken’s Harness Builder for
E3.series with Cirris Systems’ har- ness test products, Zuken and Cirris customers will no long have to input the same data into both systems, saving significant time. Other new features include:
fully-integrated unit of measurement definition; full butt splice support of heat shrinks, featuring horizontal shrinkage and cable separation in wire lists; and new library parts, including DEUTSCH-AUTOSPORT, SOURIAU-8STA, and MIL DRL- 38999.
