LightJockey was “chosen because it was an existing control system, before Penthouse Club the venue was called Broadway Showgirls and it was run by the same owner.” National System Design Specialist, Karl Kieslich of Sound Stage Systems oversaw the technology installation from start to finish. He and his team installed the lighting and visual equipment in accordance to David’s design, however, for the audio installation, he was a little more hands on with the equipment selection process. Sound Stage Systems is a 32-year-old sound light and video integration company specialising in the entrainment industry. The company was approached by owner Joe, once he had made the decision to transform his existing venue and had gutted the entire space ready for renovation. Karl said: “The sound system for this venue needed to supply the customers and club owner with a few different features. The main room needed to have rich warm even coverage as well as coverage on stage for the entertainers.” For the main sound system Karl selected JBL Control 26C speakers. Their high power handling, wide frequency response and low distortion make the Control 26C ideal for Penthouse Club as it required high fidelity sound. The speakers are equipped with a number of features that ensure pleasant and enveloping sound throughout the entire club. This is exactly what Karl set out to achieve with the audio system. Due to the nature of the club, it was important to have a quality yet discreet sound system. The music is very much part of the entertainment, but it was essential that it did not detract from the main focus of the stage performances. Two Electro-Voice Fri-2082 two-way full-range loudspeakers increase the coverage with their 100o dispersion angle. “The basic goal was to

incorporate two separate floors of entertainment

space into one magnificent environment, creating a mezzanine and the sense

of one harmonised space. On top of that, I was also

asked to create all the fine details and high quality

extras that we did so well in Reno.”
