end in positively but she held strong in her faith. It was this immense faith and confidence in our God that allowed Mary to say yes to God. How strong Mary’s faith was to accept the task of carrying and raising the Son of God! As Mary visits her cousin, even the unborn child in Elizabeth’s womb can recognize the faith Mary has as it leapt with joy. Mary must have been frightened and unsure of the future but she said yes to our God anyway! In our own faith journey, what can we say yes to now, though we may be unsure or frightened of the outcome?

Prayer

All knowing God, help us to shed our cloaks of doubt. Help us to rest in You with confidence so we may continue to do Your will. Let the Holy Spirit work within us so that we may be open to saying ‘yes’ to you in our own spiritual uncertainties. In these days so close to the arrival of your son Jesus, we especially remember the chosen and faithful Virgin Mary and all expectant mothers.
