If you feel your kitchen knowledge needs a boost, the Certified Food Service Professional (CFSP) training programme is designed to give you a complete understanding of how commercial foodservice operations work – from design, operation and delivery systems through to storage, preparation, cooking and serving, as well as current regulations, food safety and sustainability. CFSP is internationally recognised
and accredited by the University of West London, with nearly 400 graduates of the scheme to date.
An all-round view The programme was launched in 2009 to support, develop and increase levels of knowledge within the industry. Students can study at their own pace, using a comprehensive study guide, followed by a one-day seminar and test. There is an evaluation of experience to support graduates as their career grows and the qualification provides international and national recognition. “As the only qualification that is specific to the foodservice industry, CFSP helps organisations to improve the professionalism and effectiveness of their management at every level,” says Simon Frost, chairman of CESA. “For example, a food and beverage team will find CFSP delivers a wider perspective and deeper understanding of every aspect of their discipline, while for a purchasing team it gives them in-depth knowledge to specify or negotiate more effectively and, ultimately, to drive better deals.
