NOISE-CANCELLATION OTD S.A has been working to develop new models of noise-cancelling headphones for First and Business class. It claims its 408 product now blocks out engine noise and maximises music qaulity or tranquility

The NC-250 headset claims to set a new standard in sound and noise cancellation. The headset can be customised to any colour or material including aluminium or plastic according to airline branding and customer experience required. AVID has just launched a noise-


cancelling headset called the AVID Clarity NC, which was presented at the show. The distinctive headset with a black matte finish effectively reduces environmental noise by 85%, greatly improving comfort and enjoyment of inflight entertainment. The full-size ear cups are cushioned with comfort gel padding to fit over the ear. The adjustable headband is made from metal for long-lasting

durability. High quality 40mm speakers ensure crisp, clear sound and well- defined bass. The AVID Clarity NC comes with a detachable audio cord, a dual plug adaptor, two AAA batteries and a rugged zippered protective case. Azusa, in China, is developing new noise cancelling technology to give better sound while at the same time reducing the cost of the headphone. Azusa has its HQ in Shenzhen with a headphone factory, research and marketing facility, currently supplying to more than 30 airlines.


EARBUDS The smallest form of headset is the earbud. This type does not suit all passengers and needs a comfortable fit, often achieved through the design, materials or a cushion.
