CANADIAN airline WestJet is offering more locally-made fresh sandwiches on most flights over two-and-a-half hours, departing from Canadian airports. All sandwiches cost CA$6.50 (CA$6 when pre-ordered online). Inflightfeed.com reports that

Air Baltic has pre-order option


INNOVATIVE low-cost carrier Air Baltic is launching one of the world’s first ‘pick and choose’ inflight meal pre-ordering systems. The new online system went live in May and enables passengers to drag and drop their favourite dishes onto their airline tray and create their own inflight meal. Janis Vanags, vp of corporate


communications at Air Baltic, told inflightfeed.com: “With passengers now being able to create their own inflight meal the possibilities are endless, they can fully customise their meal tray to their liking.” At the moment Air Baltic offers

Air Malta starts BoB


AIR Malta’s proposed €238 million restructuring plan includes a commitment to increase its inflight revenue, partly through the sale of inflight catering. According to the plan,


reported in The Times of Malta, “paid catering services will increase the revenue by €4 million to €5 million a year.” Other streams of revenue to be developed by the airline include additional bag charge fees of between €35 and €45 for any second or subsequent bag and a seat reservation fee of €10. airmalta.com
