SCOOPFONE GETS 5G BOOST Aeta Audio Systems BY ADRIAN PENNINGTON
5G capability has arrived on the ScoopFone audio codec, boosting the capacity of broadcasters working remotely. ScoopFone5G, from audio and IP codec specialist Aeta, is based on the ScoopFone4G portable audio codec, sporting the same look and feel as its predecessor, but now offering the ability to connect to 5G, 4G and 3G networks. Yann Vonarburg, GM, Aeta Audio Systems, said: “ScoopFone is the smallest broadcast-grade contribution device on the market. In 2021 we announced the addition of 5G to our ScoopTeam unit. Now, considering the commercial success of our ScoopFone, we decided it was time to upgrade this product with the most advanced communication technology available today that offers broadcast
journalists the best communication experience possible.” ScoopFone5G offers high-quality audio, adjustable bitrates and HD Voice. The unit also features Aeta’s latest developments such as auto jitter buffer, auto bitrate Opus and remote access, making it even easier for operators to use. “ScoopFone5G offers optimal transmission performance – a perfect balance between mobility, sound quality and functionality,” added Vonarburg. It comes in a sturdy bag and offers
more than fi e hours of autonomy with rechargeable batteries. 8.F83

AUTO-TRACKING G3 CAMERA LINE PREVIEWED PTZOptics
BY DAVID FOX
PTZOptics is demonstrating its upcoming third-generation (G3) PTZ cameras with auto-tracking capabilities, allowing a single operator to take on the tasks of a full production team. The G3 cameras, which will be available later this year, will also offer 4K resolution at 60fps, optical zoom lenses up to 30x, and a built-in tally light. The cameras will offer a variety of output options, including HDMI, SDI (up to 1080p at 60fps), USB and IP, to allow them to be easily integrated into any production environment. For productions looking for
more advanced deployment options, the new line will include a premium version
of the G3 camera, which will boast additional features such as an OLED display showing the camera’s video resolution and IP address, as well as an upgraded lens and a smoother, quieter motor. The premium model will also offer auto-tracking through on-board beam-forming microphones, which provide an easy way to auto-track between multiple subjects based on who is currently speaking.
