RCT OFFERS FLUID REMOTE CONTROL OF PTZS

Remote Camera Technology

BY DAVID FOX

A new version of the FR-1 Fluid Remote has been unveiled, which can be used to control Canon and Sony PTZ cameras along with RCT robotic heads for live on-air events.

The FR-1 pan bar system is optimised for ultra-low latency control of RCT robotic heads and select PTZ cameras over IP and is suitable for remote productions. Up to four cameras of mixed types can be controlled. It is claimed to provide intuitive, position-based movement that mimics controlling a camera on a traditional fluid head. ompared to velocity-based joystick control this means operators can quickly

learn how to move the camera smoothly – important for on-air situations. The FR-1 can also be used for motion capture of pan/tilt/zoom/focus for accurate playback. It communicates with video switchers over IP for tally information and aux bus control. A bracket and counterweight are available options when using a in field display. 11.D40
