High performance broadcasting

interconnect solutions

NDI sources can be added to an AMPP dashboard and treated like any other source Grass Valley

BY ADRIAN PENNINGTON

With the AMPP agile production and distribution platform now supporting NDI v5.0, Grass Valley’s NDI Discovery Service allows operators to automatically fi nd and list all NDI sources running on the network, including sources not loaded on any AMPP fabric. The sources can be quickly added to an AMPP dashboard and treated like any other source. To reduce I/O requirements for graphics, a single NDI stream supports alpha channel for both key and fi ll. Chris Merrill, Director of Product

Marketing at Grass Valley, said: “Native NDI within AMPP provides seeral uniue benefi ts its more than a bidirectional, low latency transport for high-quality compressed video.” Remote control of PTZ cameras is available from the AMPP user interface with manual or preset adjustment for camera focus, exposure, white balance and zoom, as well as a joystick for pan and tilt. Preset buttons can be placed where it’s most convenient for the operator. The preview key frames or an A fl ow monitor show the results of the adjustments as they occur. 9.A01
