OPTIMISING QC WORKFLOWS Interra Systems

The automated QC platform Baton is being showcased at IBC with new enterprise-level hybrid deployments (including auto-scale, on-premises and in the cloud) and audio/video quality checks for complex content. There’s fresh support for the Dolby Atmos master format, as well as AC4 and FLAC audio, enhanced DCP compliance per SMPTE 428-1:2019, and optimised ProRes decoding.
Baton Captions, an automated solution for captioning-related needs, is being demonstrated with new support for IAM-based S3 access, additional languages (such as Italian), distributed processing using multiple nodes, and a cascade of other features.

Interra Systems is showing the power of Baton for automated QC
Baton Winnow, the company’s solution for content classifi cation and identifi cation is also demoed with new language detection of visual text present in video and enhanced accuracy for detection of explicit scenes.
In addition, Interra Systems’ Baton media player offers improvements in the loading and playback performance of 4K content, support for playing media fi les directly from S3, Azure, GCS and FTP content locations or through YouTube URLs, as well as several usability improvements. 7.C05
An AoIP-focused monitor controller with onboard metering is the highlight of RTW Audio’s IBC exhibit. TouchControl 5 is a monitor controller and audio meter in a small footprint, featuring a 5in touchscreen, as well as a rotary knob that also functions as a push button for easy access to dim or mute functions. The screen layout can be customised by the user via a browser- based application. TouchControl 5 can control up to 32 AoIP audio channels, making it compatible with audio formats
from mono to immersive within a Dante audio network. According to RTW, the company is “no newcomer to monitor control”, as it has a long history of providing advanced monitor controller devices that are still in use at many broadcast stations. Although its focus has been on metering in recent years, with the introduction of TouchControl 5, RTW says it is now “making monitor control a focal area”. 8.D75
