OUTSOURCED ENGINEERING OFFERED AS A SERVICE

BHV Broadcast BY DAVID FOX

Rebranded and expanded, BHV is now leveraging its skill base to offer turnkey embedded engineering services. It is also demonstrating new video, wireless and control technologies. Julian Hiorns, Managing Director,  said ee been fulfi lling this [outsourcing] need for manufacturers, very successfully, for years. The pandemic, however, threw us into high gear with vendors having to deal with lockdowns, supply chain issues and labour shortages. Clients brought us their idea, or even a seed of an idea, and we turned it into a product built on the very latest, proven technologies in the industry.”  fi lls the need for outsourced innovation and development by bringing high-end electronic design

ROBOTIC TRACK ON THE MOVE Zanus Technology BY DAVID FOX

and manufacturing services to a broad cross-section of vendors serving the broadcast/video production, streaming, professional AV and image processing industries. It offers a multi-phased approach to product development that includes market assessment, technology evaluation, product design and delivery of turnkey systems. It covers three main areas: video; connectivity; and controls. 10.A20

Robotics specialist Zanus Technology has introduced two new robotic camera systems: a dolly track system; and a motorised pedestal. The Move robotic track system is fully modular with a motorised pedestal, manual pedestal and pan tilt head.

It is claimed to be quick and easy to set up and control and offers a maximum speed range of 3mps and a minimum speed range of 1mmps. It can carry a camera payload of up to 100kg, with a maximum height of 2m (1.77m plus the pan tilt head), and a minimum height of 1m. The PTZ Raise is a robotic motorised pedestal designed for pan/tilt/zoom cameras or

DSLRs, compact broadcast box cameras or camcorders. It is compact and lightweight, taking a camera payload of up to 20kg, with a speed range of 0.01mm to 100mm per second. Its maximum height is 2m, and the minimum is 1m. It is a smaller version of the company’s existing Raise motorised pedestal. Zanus also has a range of

robotic pan/tilt heads, with Robo Prod software for multiple camera control by a single operator, and is currently developing Ceiling Dolly, a ceiling-mounted track system. 11.C46
