Newer larger aircraft often times will have a separate area for pilot and flight attendant crew rest. Flight attendants should always ask the PIC before utilizing this area for storage or their own crew rest and be aware of what you store there before rest begins.
LAVATORY
If you are able to view the aircraft ahead of time familiarize yourself with how the various lavatory systems work. Many corporate jets utilize a pressure plate in front of the wash basin to enable the water to be turned on and off. This is a protection feature to ensure that the water does not stay on and potentially overflow the basin and flood the lavatory.
Lavatory manufacturers have progressed to “vacuum flush” technology to eliminate solid and liquid residue from the basin.
