1. Place the dinner plate on the table directly in front of where guest will be sitting. 2. Locate the bread and butter plate at the 10:00 position in relation to dinner plate. 3. The butter knife should be placed on the bread and butter plate in a horizontal position. 4. Place water glass at 1:00 position relative to dinner plate. 5. Put red-wine glass just below and to right of water glass. 6. Set white-wine glass just below and to right of red-wine glass. 7. Put dessert fork above dinner plate in a horizontal position with handle to the left. 8. Place dessert spoon above dessert fork, facing in opposite direction. 9. Dinner knife(s) should be located to the right of dinner plate - blade facing inwards. (If serving salad: use 2 knives (if enough) and clear with salad plate).
10. Soup spoon to right of dinner knife. 11. Salad fork / appetizer fork to left of dinner plate 12. Dinner fork closest to left side of dinner plate. 13. Place fish knife to the right of dinner knife. 14. Fish fork should be located to the right of soup spoon. 15. Place folded napkin (or napkin ring) in center of empty plate or to left of setting. 16. Salt & Pepper shakers placed at top middle of setting (salt is always on the right facing the passenger).
