ORGANISATION OF THE WORKPLACE
A workplace that is well-organised and properly managed will be more productive. Every employee in a workplace should know their role in the organisation and be aware of their place in the chain of command (i.e. who they report to and who reports to them).
The position of every employee in a workplace is shown in an organisational structure. The following organisational structure shows the chain of command in a small clothes shop.
Organisational structures may also show the different departments within an organisation. Each department looks after a different area of the organisation and has its own chain of command.
