Barcodes
A barcode is a series of vertical lines that can be read by a checkout scanner.
A barcode contains information about the product, such as:
• Name • Price • Country of origin.

The information contained in the barcode is read by the scanner at the checkout and the details are printed on the customer’s receipt. The number of units of the product left in the shop’s stockroom is also updated. This means that the shop knows when to order more of a particular item.
