While the positive and negative impacts of globalisation can be debated, there is no doubt that globalisation is here to stay. One of the greatest challenges for governments today is dealing with the pressures associated with the high population densities in some of the world’s cities. These issues include:
• Overcrowding • Lack of housing • Shortage of clean water • Pollution • Lack of open space.
It is important that we recognise the negative impacts of globalisation so that we can protect our cultural diversity and environmental biodiversity and work towards global economic equality.

Your teacher will hand out two sticky notes to each student. Write down two ways that globalisation has linked you to another part of the world. Place your sticky note on a map of the world and explain your connection to the rest of the class. Remember to link your connection to globalisation.
