Introduction to Geography
What is Geography? Geography is the study of the world around you. It helps you to explore where you live. It will make you think more about your village/town/city, your country and the whole world!
It also helps you to understand the way the world is physically (what it looks like), socially (the people that live in it and why they live where they do) and economically (the flow of money and goods around the world).
Geography strands
There are three strands in Junior Cycle Geography. They are:
1. Exploring the physical world: looking at the physical world around us and how and why the world is shaped the way it is.
For example, we will look at the formation of soil in Chapter 16.
