Range is the difference between the highest and lowest of a set of numbers. When you have these values you take the lowest from the highest.
For example, if you were asked what is the range of the average temperature in Ireland if the coldest month was 6 °C and the hottest month was 16 °C, the range for the year’s temperature would be 10 °C.

Mean The mean is the average of a set of numbers.
For example, if you were asked to find the mean of 24, 27, 19 and 18, you would add up the four numbers and then divide the answer by 4.
