containing the synthetic peptide benchmark also showed significant increase in dermal density by 17.0% (*p<0.05), 28.7% (*p<0.05) and 33.2% (*p<0.05) compared to baseline control after 28, 56 and 84 days use respectively.
Skin firmness The mechanical and viscoelastic properties of skin were assessed using cutometry. Skin firmness improvement was evaluated using the Uf (R0) parameter, and skin elasticity improvement was evaluated using the Ur/Uf (R7) parameter. The placebo, the exosome and natural peptide
blend, and the synthetic peptide benchmark all provided a significant increase in skin firmness after 28, 56 and 84 days of home use, compared with the initial skin condition. The placebo provided a modest yet
statistically significant increase (*p < 0.05) in skin firmness of 7.9% after 28 days, 6.9% after 56 days and 11.8% after 84 days. One hundred percent of the research participants showed improvement in skin firmness after 28 days, 79% after 56 days and 88% after 84 days of home use. The formula containing the exosome and
natural peptide blend provided a significant increase (*p < 0.05) in skin firmness of 11.7% after 28 days, 17.0% after 56 days and 22.6% after 84 days with 100% of the research participants showing improvement in skin firmness at each timepoint (Figure 4). The formula containing the synthetic peptide benchmark provided a significant increase (*p < 0.05) in skin firmness of 12.7% after 28 days, 18.1% after 56 days and 22.4% after 84 days with 100% of the research participants showing improvement in skin firmness at each time point. The formulations containing both the exosome
and natural peptide blend, and the synthetic peptide benchmark showed a significantly greater increase (+p < 0.05) than the placebo formula at all time points. However, no significant difference was observed between the formulas containing the exosome and natural peptide blend, and the synthetic peptide benchmark.
